Blog grading criteria

The above resource (click image to open) is an example of grading criteria used to mark blogs in a module that is part of the MA Higher Education. The criteria have been refined over time to include peer learning, as this is a valuable aspect of blogging – blogging is more like a conversation, and using this medium in an assessed context allows module participants to try out hypotheses, gain feedback from peers, and defend and refine their arguments.

Whilst participants can sometimes find the process of ‘thinking out loud’ quite daunting to begin with, they often find, as they go along, they value the process and get a lot from the learning experience. Have a look at this page, blogging for assessment, to see a video of blogging from a student’s perspective.
